What Is Wikipedia? fetches random pages from Wikipedia based on specific criteria (i.e. articles, users, media) and presents these links as visual metaphors appropriating Wikipedia’s brand aesthetic. In the “Library,” articles are depicted as books. In the “Café,” users are depicted as people congregating in a common space. And, in the “Gallery,” media files are depicted as artworks on a wall. With this project, No Replica aimed to grant deeper meaning to Wikipedia’s vast archives and give visitors more entryways into the site’s offerings.
