Small Sites; Big Stories is an educational initiative highlighting the ability to create meaningful digital experiences out of minimal lines of code. The site features a collection of microsites built using as little code as possible. Each microsite has an associated title indicating the site’s contents, as well as an explanation of how the site works from a technical perspective. When viewing a story, users can edit the microsite’s code to see a live preview of those changes in action.

The site’s homepage resembles a stack of books. Reloading the page randomizes the color, size, and position of each book.

Users can filter stories based on how many lines of code they have.

Clicking on a book reveals the associated story, presented alongside an explanation of the story’s code and the code itself.

Each story is fully editable right within the web browser. Users can expand the code editor and toggle on different modes for analyzing the pre-existing code. Changing the code generates a live preview.
