Hiding a musical instrument in plain sight
The Talent House is a music school in Cypress, TX that offers lessons for a wide range of instruments. No Replica collaborated with designer Clinton Van Arnam to create the organization’s identity and website. The site employs a heavy black-and-white aesthetic that is brought to life through a series of animations.
In addition to the traditional user experience, which spans several pages including instructor bios and a blog, the site features a playable piano embedded within the sidebar navigation. Visitors can activate the piano by clicking the bottom key, triggering an animation that rotates the navigation and reveals the full keyboard.

The landing page features an animated version of the logo that morphs between the icon and wordmark. On the side is a site navigation styled like a rotated piano keyboard.
By clicking the bottommost “key” in the navigation, users can toggle a fullscreen piano, which is playable by clicking or pressing the associated keyboard keys.
