Speculative identity and typeface revolving around the shape of a tortoise shell
As a study in type design, No Replica created a speculative identity for the Galápagos Islands that features a reworked version of the open-source typeface Work Sans. Our identity modifies the counterforms within certain letters, like the lowercase “a” glyphs, to evoke the shape of the Galápagos tortoise shell. This visual motif is carried across all designs, culminating in a website that features an animated and interactive version of the typeface.
