“Smile Through It” is a series of short games highlighting the disconnect between smiling and happiness. Visitors play the games using their webcams and smiling, following three distinct prompts. The first game, “Past,” is a test of how many times the user can smile in a minute. The second game, “Present,” is an endurance challenge. The third game, “Future,” is a timing challenge that requires the users to smile on demand. Each game is presented alongside depressing material meant to make the player re-evaluate their emotional state.
