Identity and website highlighting spectrums of color used in student work
RISD’s annual Grad Show is the school’s public showcase of graduate work and theses. Each year, two students are selected to create an identity for the event and an archival website featuring everyone’s work. No Replica worked with designer Emily Bluedorn on the 2024 identity, which featured strips of dynamic gradients generated directly from student artworks. We achieved this by zooming in and panning across images to reveal small fragments of color. Then, we assembled these fragments in a composition of vertical slices, combined with an original variable font based on the typeface FT88. No Replica’s work on the project included a poster generator with an interactive interface for saving PDFs at a variety of print sizes.
