Dynamic compositions generated by transforming images

Overview

Pixel Weaver is a generative art application that creates a dynamic textile out of selected source images. Users can choose an image from a preset list or upload their own, after which the image populates each cell of a grid. The site resizes and zooms in or out on each cell to create the final animation. In addition to choosing what image to use, users have a wide range of settings they can customize, such as the speed and intensity of the animation.

The site features a shifting grid that distorts a source image, in this case a series of horizontal lines.
Users can customize the animation through a wide range of settings. These settings include the ability to change the source images and their locations within the grid.
Additional settings include the ability to change the animation’s intensity and timing, or to transform the grid beyond its original structure.
Users can apply effects to the source images to change their appearance.
The user interface’s color palette is fully customizable.
When in doubt, press the randomization button! Users can select which settings are adjusted when randomizing the animation.
